On 4 June I competed in the Deva half ironman triathlon in Chester. It consisted of a 1900m swim, 90km bike then a half marathon (13 mile) run. I enjoy challenging myself and I had been training hard for this event, often swimming in the River Hamble, cycling around the Meon Valley and running with Hedge End running club. I was extremely pleased to finish as 3rd female and my first sub 5 hour half ironman. I was particularly happy with cycling the 90km (56 miles) in 2 hours 38 minutes, averaging over 21mph and then running the half marathon in 1:37.
