The Hamble School continues to raise the expectation of academic excellence, and promote scholarship early on in Years 10 and 11. This term has therefore seen Year 11 and Year 10 students and parents attend two evenings at The Hamble School – our Raising Achievement Evenings.
Our first evening in September highlighted the key successes in the Year 11 exams this summer, cemented our highest expectations of every student in achieving personal excellence through an enhanced programme of academic and personal development, and outlined the most important information for each subject that aimed to empower parents and carers, to support their child in partnership with The Hamble School.
Our second evening in November provided an introduction to college applications, college deadlines and careers advice, as well as developing effective learning to learn skills and associated revision strategies to best prepare for the upcoming mock examinations with our visiting speaker, Lorraine Lee.
Feedback from our students and parents across both events was overwhelmingly positive with 98% finding the information from each event useful.
Our next event will take place on Thursday, 1st February 2018. We look forward to welcoming parents and carers at our next event which will focus on growth mindset and resilience, as well as the next steps leading on from (Year 11) and up to (Year 10) mock exams.
