On Thursday 5th of March we celebrated World Book Day at the Hamble School. Staff and student alike dressed up across the school with departments decorated for the occasion.
In Science we decided on a theme of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. We did a number of experiments over the course of the day to explore some of the science in Lewis Carroll’s classic.- – How big would Alice’s dress need to be in order to parachute down the rabbit hole?
- – Do baked goods contain the necessary ingredients required to make Alice grow?
- – How could we “paint” the roses red without inadvertently killing them?
