On Thursday 14 February as part of the Personal, Social, Health, Careers and Religious Education (PSHCRE) statutory requirements, Year 9 participated in a day entitled ‘Relationships and the Future’.
We were joined by a number of guest speakers who engaged the students in a series of workshops, including the School Nursing Team and TADIC (Young people’s wellbeing service). The workshops encouraged our students to consider the realities of lasting relationships and marriage in today’s world, the characteristics of positive and negative relationships, peer pressure and the context of sex within a relationship.
Our final session was led by Shannon Reddin who reflected on the day using a clip entitled ‘Love is patient; love is kind’. She engaged our students in reflecting on the day and the relationship choices they can make both now and in the future. Our students were fantastic in how they engaged in all the sessions and positive in their feedback on the day.
