Friday 8 April – Early Close 1pm

The last day of the Spring Term will be an early closure at 1pm. This will be a normal school day for the most part and students are expected to attend as usual. Lessons will take place during periods 1 – 3 with a virtual rewards assembly in Tutor bases during period 4. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all of the successes of this term. Prizes and certificates will be given out during the assemblies. Students are invited to wear non-school uniform for the day and are encouraged to wear blue and yellow as the funds raised will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) to support their continued efforts in helping the people of Ukraine (see below).

Your support in ensuring your child attends on this day is important as attendance at school is one of the biggest indicators of overall outcomes. The school canteen will be serving food at break time but not at lunch time. Students are reminded to purchase all their food at break time. The school bus will be on site for 1pm and will leave at 1.10pm.  The bus will follow its normal route to drop students off.

Students will return to school on 25 April 2022. This will be a Week 1 on the timetable.

Ukraine

Last week in tutor time, students in Years 7-10 were learning about the war in Ukraine and the history leading up to the conflict. On Friday 8 April students can wear non-uniform. We are raising donations for the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal https://www.dec.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal who are working closely with families affected by the war in Ukraine.

We are encouraging students to wear blue and yellow in support of Ukraine and to donate to the cause. A suggested donation of £1 can be paid during the week or on Friday handed to either the tutor or paid online through ScoPay.
