Last week we enjoyed lots of celebrations in school. On Monday it was the Prom at the Chilworth Manor Hotel. Everyone had a fabulous time and it was brilliant to be able to celebrate the last five years with Year 11. Thank you to Mrs Emmett-Callaghan for organising everything. Year 9 and 10 celebrated the end of their mock exam period on Friday – well done for all your hard work with revision. We will be reporting the results to parents/ carers during the last week of term. We were particularly impressed with the standard of work produced in the Year 10 Photography exam.

On Wednesday our Year 7 and 8 students celebrated the Arts with a day full of creativity – Students had the opportunity to engage in a variety of workshops from steel drumming to photography and drama. A big ‘thank you’ to Mrs Bowman, the Creative Arts team, the Year 11 students who volunteered to help and the outside groups who came into school for this event.

On Thursday evening we were so proud to hear that our canteen was awarded the LACA Secondary School Team of the Year. We have a fantastic partnership with HC3S and believe that this amazing achievement represents a real ‘Team Hamble’ effort. Mr Bazeley-White (Operations Manager at HC3S) writes: ‘I am truly grateful for your support and belief in the service. Investing not only financially into the service but equally investing in the individuals within the team – they are very much a part of the Hamble family’.

Our students have all worked so hard this year to achieve lots of reward points – We were able to give away some tickets to the Women’s 2022 Euros at St. Mary’s. We hope you had a great evening.

Well done to Amelia D, Eve P, Dylan M, Josie G, Jake W, Evie M, Bianca R, Jessica S, Jamie S, William H, Freddie B, Olivia W, George O’B, Maddie T, Scarlett W, Jack H, Alfie W, Georgia B, Ashton H, Poppy F, Martha M, Eli P for the fantastic work you showed us on ‘Proud Friday’.

Thank you to the staff who have given up their time over the last two weekends to enable tour Year 10s to complete their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. Well done to all the students who have taken part – It is a fantastic achievement and we are really proud of you.

Uniform next week:

The weather forecast suggests high temperatures next week. On Monday and Wednesday-Friday students can either wear full Hamble PE kit or trousers/ skirt and a shirt. Blazers and ties are not required. On Tuesday, for Sports Day, all students must wear full Hamble PE kit and bring a large water bottle, hat and suntan lotion. We ask that students do not wear joggers or leggings next week as it will be too hot. We will communicate the uniform plan for the final week of term in due course depending on the weather forecast.

Next week is Week 1.
