What an eventful week – The highlights include the Year 8 and 9 PSHCRE assemblies with Shannon Reddin from Enrich, the rewards and celebration assemblies and a fantastic evening of Year 11 Drama. It was so good to see lots of parents/ carers at this event – the students have worked so hard and put on a brilliant performance. Unfortunately, the week has ended with school being closed due to Storm Eunice; it is not what we wanted for the last day of Spring Term 1, but it is important that all our students and staff are safe.

We hope everyone has a relaxing break and look forward to seeing students back in the classroom on 28 February.

Next week is half term. We return to school on Monday 28 February at 8:30am. It will be Week 1.

Year 11

As you are aware Year 11 Mock Exams continue after half term. The timetable is available on our website https://www.thehambleschool.co.uk/examination-information/ and students are welcoming to attend the Revision Breakfast which runs every day throughout the mocks.

All students have access to GCSEPod – This is a great resource to support revision. GCSEPod are running some free webinars for students – these will cover revision techniques and how to use GCSEPod successfully to get ready for exams, looking at forgetting, procrastinating and how failure helps us to succeed. Details of the sessions are below:

A reminder that afterschool intervention will not run during the Mock Exams, but will return on Tuesday 15 March.

If you have any questions about the exams or need support with revision, please contact Mrs Emmett-Callaghan (Head of Year), Mrs Griffiths (Assistant Head of Year) or your child’s tutor – HOY11@thehambleschool.co.uk

Class Charts

A reminder that from 28 February parents/ carers will be able to access information about their child’s rewards, behaviour, timetable and attendance/ punctuality on Class Charts. This is in addition to the current information available on the App for homework, remote education and attendance reporting. If you do not have access to the parent/ carer App please email homelearning@thehambleschool.co.uk

Please note that from 28 February Class Charts will be used to notify parents/ carers of detentions – Unless the behaviour requires a phone call, we will be using this as the main method of communication and you may not be contacted in any other way.
