It has been wonderful to see students back in school this week. The Year 11s have continued to work very hard on their Mock Exams and some of our Year 10 students had a fantastic time at the University of Southampton for the Learn with Us Science trip.

Thank you for your co-operation with the changes on Thursday due to the traffic incident. We were concerned about staff being able to make it into school, but our contingency plan worked very well and all students were registered and in lessons learning by the start of the school day as usual.

It was good to see so many parents/ carers at the Year 9 Parents’ Evening on Thursday. We decided to switch the evening online due to the motorway incident and we hope that this helped everyone. At the end of the evening we sent a survey to all Year 9 parents/ carers and have outlined some of the results below:

  • 99% of parents feel that their child is happy at school.
  • 99% of parents feel that their child is safe at the school.
  • 99% of parents feel that their child is well looked after at the school.
  • 100% of parents believe that their child is taught well at the school.
  • 92% of parents feel that the school responds well to any concerns raised.
  • 92% of parents believe that they receive valuable information from the school on their child’s progress.
  • 92% of parents would recommend the school to another parent/ carer.

We regularly ask parents/ carers to complete surveys about the school. We really appreciate the responses and it helps us to support children and make further improvements.

Next week is WEEK 1
