Theme of the Week – Random Acts of Kindness

This week students will be focussing on ‘random acts of kindness’ in their Personal Development tutor session. Random Acts of Kindness Day is Saturday 17 February. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation provide some small ideas, which can have a big impact here: https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/kindness-ideas

In assembly Mrs Emmett-Callaghan (Progress Leader) will be launching the House Competitions for 2024.

PTA

We are aiming to develop a new Parent-Teacher Association to raise much needed funds for the school and organise some fun events for the community. We are really keen to hear from parents/ carers who would like to get involved. Maybe you have experience of working with a PTA at primary school or you are just keen to support us and give something back to the community. Please register your interest here: https://forms.office.com/e/70E1xg1sxd

Uniform and Equipment

Before the start of the school term, we would ask you to look at the uniform and equipment list on our website to ensure students have everything they need: https://www.thehambleschool.co.uk/uniform/

Students will need to be wearing their clip-on ties on Monday. If they were absent before half term, they will need to collect their free tie from their tutor. Traditional ties are no longer part of the school uniform. Students also need to wear their top button done up. If you need any financial support purchasing any part of the uniform, please email general@thehambleschool.co.uk

Year 11 Update

Afterschool intervention will not take place during the main mock exam period. It will be cancelled this week on Tuesday/ Thursday so that students can prepare for their English Literature, Maths and Science exams at home and ensure they are rested. Intervention will begin again on Tuesday 5 March 2024.

A reminder you can still purchase the CGP Revision Skills and Revision Plan book https://www.cgpbooks.co.uk/secondary-books/gcse/revision-tips/xhr42-new-how-to-revise-for-gcse-study on Scopay for £2.50 (recommended retail price – £5.99) and collect from reception.

When longer exams run into break time, students will need to bring their own snacks from home. They will still receive a break but the canteen will be closed.

The mock exams for this week are listed below:
