What a week it has been! The students are continuing to work very hard in their lessons, we had over 50 students attend Proud Friday and a number of events after school last week.

Year 11 have continued to prepare for their Mock Exams which begin this week. Record numbers of students attended the Achieving Excellence Evening with their parents/ carers. Sessions were arranged by Mr Bailey (Raising Standards Leader) and we welcomed Rob Temple – Principal of Barton Peveril to talk to one group about aspirations and higher education. Mrs Barkshire (Year 11 Progress Leaders), Mr Wood (Assistant Headteacher), Miss King, Mr Tweedle and Mr Wallace (Teaching and Learning Coaches) all provided practical sessions on motivation, organisation and preparing students for GCSEs. Thank you to all the staff involved for giving up their time in the evening.

On Wednesday the Creative Arts Team supported students to perform at Dance Live! at Portsmouth Guildhall. This was an amazing event and a real showcase of talent. All the staff and parents/ carers in the audience felt that it was a fabulous performance. We loved to see your feedback on our Facebook page: ‘You were all so amazing’, ‘It was literally incredible’, ‘so proud of the whole team’. A special mention to Ben Watts in Year 9 who produced the film back drop and was awarded Best LED Screen.

On Friday Mr Ford, Mrs Jenvey and Miss Wells hosted the Key Stage 3 Hamble Bake Off – This was a House Competition and students had £18 to produce and cook their own healthy three-course meal. The results were amazing and it was so good to see students working independently on their meals. Congratulations to all involved.

Next week is WEEK 1
