School Inclusion Officer

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic School Inclusion Officer, who has high expectations and continuously strives for the very best outcomes. This an exciting opportunity to join The Hamble School. Our vision ‘We Care, We Aim High, We Learn and Achieve Together’ encapsulates the work we do every day. Our intake numbers are increasing – we currently have 1,090 students. In March 2025 we were graded as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted and we are continuing to ensure that we provide the very best education for all our students.

We are looking to appoint a School Inclusion Officer on a 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a pivotal post in our inclusion strategy in order to support our drive to develop the most inclusive school environment. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to be involved in the running of an established support provision primarily aimed at students with SEMH and mental health needs.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the room with support from the SENDCO and Senior SENDCO. The key purpose of the role is to lead and provide high quality care and support for a small group of students with a range of needs. This will include the setting up and delivery of a range of support intervention packages to help these students engage and access mainstream provisions.

The person appointed will:

  • Have a passion for inclusion
  • Be skilled at relating well to children with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
  • Be able to work proactively, independently, and also as part of a school team
  • Be relentless in enjoying a challenge and infusing their work with hope
  • Be able to lead others
  • Be able to hold all children in mind with unconditional positive regard
  • Have an awareness of therapeutic approaches to supporting students

We are looking for a strong and organised administrator who has high standards of work and continuously strives to improve their practices. This an exciting opportunity to join The Hamble School. Our vision ‘We Care, We Aim High, We Learn and Achieve Together’ encapsulates the work we do every day. Our intake numbers are increasing – we currently have 1,090 students. In March 2025 we were graded as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted and we are continuing to ensure that we provide the very best education for all our students.

We are currently further enhancing our SEND provision and Inclusion department. The provision operates as part of a wider curriculum offering support for students who are unable to access the mainstream curriculum across 4 provision rooms and interventions. We are also adding an Autism resource provision this year to our department.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Inclusion Administrator to work alongside the Senior SENDCO and SENDCO to continue to drive the provision forward.  We are looking for someone to build strong relationships with students, work with parents/ carers, other staff members and external agencies to develop bespoke provisions for students to support their integration back in to mainstream education.

The Pastoral Team consists of a dedicated team of experienced staff, including Progress Leaders, Assistant Progress Leaders, Student Welfare Officer, Admissions and Exclusions Officer and Behaviour Administration Support. Our aim is to deliver the highest level of student support to promote progress and high standards of achievement and behaviour.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Support Officer to provide support and guidance to students. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships with students, work with parents/ carers, other staff members and external agencies to support all aspects of progress of our students. We are also looking for someone who is solution-focussed, has a ‘can do’ attitude and is able to work as part of a wider Pastoral Team. An existing first aid qualification is desirable.

We are seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of PE to join our dedicated team from September 2026, to teach Girls’ PE at Key Stages 3 and 4.

The PE department consists of a dedicated team of experienced staff, including a Head of Department and five specialist PE teachers. The team is committed to providing students with an outstanding appreciation of physical education, sport and healthy lifestyles, whilst developing confident, resilient and aspirational learners who strive for excellence in both practical and theoretical performance. We offer GCSE PE and NCFE Health and Fitness, both of which are highly popular with large option numbers. The department benefits from excellent sports facilities, enabling high-quality teaching and a wide range of sporting opportunities. You will be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking team that engages with current research and innovation to enhance students’ outcomes and life chances. There is an expectation that all staff contribute fully to the wider life of the school, with extra-curricular provision, fixtures, trips and visits forming a vital and highly valued part of the role, supporting students to develop teamwork, leadership and a lifelong passion for physical activity.

We are looking for someone with:
