Proud to have achieved the Leading Parent Partnership Award

Leading Parent Partnership Award

As a school we are committed to developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with Parents/Carers. This is highlighted through Whole School Priority 5 which states:

Embed a culture of outward facing collaboration, positive communication and strong community links.

We know that effective and positive Parent/Carer partnerships have a lasting impact on student outcomes, behaviour, attendance, punctuality and wellbeing. By working together we will ensure that all students achieve their full potential and leave The Hamble School as lifelong learners.

We are delighted that we achieved the Leading Parent Partnership Award in November 2024. This is a nationally recognised award, which recognises the school’s work supporting families and other stakeholders.

Comments from the Award Verifier:

“The Hamble School presents an open and welcoming environment for students, parents and visitors.”

The introduction of class charts for parents to access and have means to communicate about student progress has been received well.”

There are clear and strong procedures for parents and students to receive information, seek advice or support and to gain access to key staff members such as pastoral leads, SSO’s, progress leaders, and tutors who are particularly approachable and students and parents know who to go to.”

A range of events take place across the school year including Achieving Excellence Evenings, transition events, study skills workshops for parents and their children, student leadership award evenings to celebrate success.”

Transition and induction to the school is a strength with much already in place and strategically led by a SLT staff member and team. There are wide ranging events including visits to primary feeders, meet and greet on the gate with The Hamble school Headteacher meeting new and prospective parents as they bring their children into the primary feeders. Staff members from the Hamble school visit and teach in the primaries and student transition prefects have an active role.”

“The parents felt that communication with the school is good and that they have access to the website, newsletters, texts, and Facebook.”

“The parents recognised how the school is working hard within the community citing the involvement in the quarry campaign, inviting primaries in for the music collaborative concert and involvement of grandparents, the local care home and various initiatives of support such as the food bank. One parent said: “There has been an absolute shift in bringing in the community.”
